This 17 storey block consisting 93 1 & 2 bedroom flats was constructed in the 1970’s and is located in Charlton,
overlooking Charlton Athletic Football Club.
Due to the height of the building it was decided that a sprinkler system should be retroactively installed as additional protection for the residents.
The system installed complies with and meets the requirements of BS9251:2014 for a category 2 system, this is fed via a dedicated pump and tank located with the ground floor plant area. Each level is fitted with a flow switch to provide a fire signal if the system is activated, plus the alarm panel receiving the signal will indicate the level on which the sprinkler system activated.
The installation itself was carried out while upgrade works were undertaken to minimise disruption to the tenants and allow for cost savings, such as sharing a fixed scaffold and welfare facilities.
We carried out the entire retro fit installation, including all concealment works ensuring the clients requirements were met at all times.

This extra care housing block has 58 1 & 2 bedroom flats, it was constructed in 2010 to comply with the lifetime homes model
and is located in Thamesmead central.
As well as self-contained flats the building has several communal areas including dining areas for extra support.
Due to the vulnerability of the residents it was decided that a sprinkler system should be retro fitted to the property as an enhancement to the existing life safety systems already in place.
The sprinkler system installed complies with the requirements of BS9251:2014 category 3 and utilises the existing cold water boosted system as a feed to the sprinklers. Each level is fitted with a flow switch to provide a fire signal if the system is activated, plus the alarm panel receiving the signal will indicate the level on which the sprinkler system activated.
We carried out the entire retro fit installation, including all concealment works ensuring all the clients requirements were met.

This social housing scheme consists of 23 1 bedroom flats and
is located in Bermondsey

THE ROYAL BELL HOTEL

This local landmark has its origins in the 16th century and by
the 18th century it was one of Bromley’s busiest coaching inns.
In 1898 the building was completely rebuilt as a new luxury hotel.
The Royal Bell has recently been refurbished and part of this refurbishment was
the requirement to install sprinkler protection to meet building regulation approval.
The system installed complies with and meets the requirements of BS9251:2014 for a category 3 system, this is fed via a dedicated pump and tank located within the basement plant area.
Each level is fitted with a flow switch to provide a fire signal if the system is activated, plus the alarm panel receiving the signal will indicate the level on which the sprinkler system activated.

This old monastery was refurbished in 1995 to house retired
persons. This social housing scheme consists of 24 1 & 2
bedroom flats and is located in Forest Gate.
Due to the vulnerability of the residents, plus the age of the building, it was decided that a sprinkler system should be installed.
The building itself is listed and requires approvals for most types of work undertaken within and around the building.
We are currently working closely with a specialist Architect to ensure the proposed BS9251, category 3 system will meet both the requirements of the sprinkler standard and gain approval from the local authority.
